Live-in treatment

Residential inpatient rehab

Residential treatment gives you distance from the people, places, and pressures tied to your substance use. You live on our campus, follow a full daily schedule, and work with a therapist who gets to know you well.

Inside residential treatment

Residential care is where most of the deeper work happens. You’ll meet with your primary therapist at least twice a week, take part in daily group sessions, and see a psychiatric provider for any mental health or medication needs.

Between sessions, life on campus is structured but not rigid: shared meals, fitness, outings, and quiet time. You learn how to live without substances while surrounded by people doing the same.

What’s included

  • Individual therapy, at least twice weekly
  • Daily process and skills groups
  • Psychiatric care and medication management
  • CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy
  • Family sessions and weekly family group
  • Fitness, yoga, and weekend outings

Who it helps most

  • People who have relapsed after outpatient care
  • Anyone whose home is not a safe place to recover
  • People with co-occurring mental health symptoms
  • Clients stepping down from medical detox
  • Anyone who needs structure while new habits form
  • People who want time away to focus fully

Typical length

30 to 90 days

Many clients stay 30 to 45 days and continue in outpatient care. Longer stays are recommended for some, based on clinical need and progress.

Recovery story

Learning to live a full day sober

Dana arrived after a week in detox, unsure she could stay a month. She’d been using pain pills for six years and couldn’t remember the last time she’d had a routine.

Her therapist helped her connect her use to a car accident and the grief that followed. By week four she was leading a morning meditation group, and she continued into our outpatient program.

The structure saved me. For the first time in years I woke up, ate breakfast, and actually knew what my day was going to look like.

Why our residential program feels different

We keep the census small so your therapist has time for you, not just your chart. Treatment plans are reviewed every week and change as you change. If something isn’t helping, we try something else.

Our residence looks and feels like a home: a shared kitchen, a backyard with shade, and bedrooms you’d be comfortable in. Recovery is hard work, and we think the setting should make that work a little easier.

Questions about residential inpatient

Don’t see your question? Admissions can answer it in a quick, confidential call.

(714) 497-3120
How long is residential treatment?

Most stays run 30 to 90 days. Your treatment team reviews progress each week and recommends a length based on your goals, clinical needs, and what your insurance authorizes.

Can I have my phone?

Phones are held for the first few days so you can settle in, then made available during set hours. Exceptions can be made for work, legal, or family needs. Our admissions team can explain the full policy.

Can my family visit?

Yes. Visiting hours are on weekends, and family members are encouraged to join our weekly family group and scheduled family sessions with your therapist.

Do you offer private rooms?

We offer both semi-private and a limited number of private rooms. Room assignments depend on availability and clinical considerations.

What happens when residential ends?

Your discharge plan starts on day one. Most clients step down to our intensive outpatient program, often while living in sober housing nearby. You’ll also join our alumni community for ongoing support.
