Withdrawal management
Medical detox in Orange County
Detox is where your body gets a chance to rest. Our nurses and medical providers watch over you around the clock, treat withdrawal symptoms as they come, and keep you safe while the substances leave your system.

Inside our detox program
You stay in a home-like residence, not a hospital ward. Nurses check your vital signs and withdrawal symptoms on a set schedule, and a medical provider adjusts your medication as your body stabilizes. Meals, fluids, and rest are part of the treatment.
As you start feeling better, counselors begin meeting with you and the team plans your next step, so there is no gap between detox and the rest of your treatment.

Recovery story
Being looked after through the hardest week
Marcus had tried to stop drinking on his own several times, and each attempt ended within two days. The shakes, the sweating, and the panic at night always sent him back.
In detox, a nurse sat with him through his first night and his medication was adjusted twice before morning. By day five he was sleeping, eating, and asking about the residential program.
I was terrified of withdrawal. They kept me comfortable, checked on me all night, and never once made me feel like a burden.

How we make detox safer and calmer
Fear of withdrawal keeps many people from asking for help. We take that fear seriously. Every client is assessed on arrival and receives a written medication plan built around their substance use, medical history, and current symptoms.
We treat symptoms early instead of waiting for them to get worse. That means fewer long nights, less pain, and a far lower chance of complications. Private and semi-private rooms, home-cooked meals, and staff who know your name make the week feel humane.
Questions about medical detox
Don’t see your question? Admissions can answer it in a quick, confidential call.
(714) 497-3120What should I expect during detox?
Your first priority is to become medically stable and physically comfortable. Our team monitors your vital signs and symptoms around the clock and gives medication as your symptoms call for it. As you start to feel better, you’ll meet with a counselor and begin planning the next stage of treatment.
How long does detox last?
Most people stay between 3 and 10 days. Alcohol and opioid detox often take 5 to 7 days, while benzodiazepine withdrawal can take longer because medication is tapered slowly. Your medical team decides based on how your body responds, not on a fixed calendar.
Is detox painful?
Withdrawal is uncomfortable, but it should not be unbearable. Symptom-triggered medication, fluids, nutrition, and rest relieve most of the worst symptoms. If something isn’t working, tell any staff member and the medical provider will adjust your plan.
Will someone monitor me at night?
Yes. Nursing staff are on site 24 hours a day and check on clients through the night. A medical provider is on call at all times.
Do I have to go to groups during detox?
No. While you are in active withdrawal, rest comes first. Groups and counseling sessions are offered when you’re feeling well enough, and many clients join them by the second or third day.
What happens after detox?
Detox treats the physical side of addiction, not the reasons behind it. Most clients move directly into our residential program. Your team will recommend the right next step and arrange it before you leave detox.

Recovery looks different for everyone. These are a few of the people who trusted us with theirs.
Evening IOP let me keep my business running while I got sober. The group became the most honest part of my week.
We came in together and left together, sober. The couples sessions saved our marriage as much as our health.
Admissions handled my insurance, picked me up from the airport, and had a bed ready that night. All I had to do was call.
